Terms of sale and licence

Version 2026-10-03. These terms apply to Frame Witness Forensics licences bought through this website.

What you buy

A perpetual licence to use the Frame Witness Forensics version current at purchase, plus updates released during the following 12 months. Professional covers 1 workstation, Lab 3 and Organization 5. Activations are managed from the purchaser's account. The licence may not be resold, shared beyond its workstation count or used to provide the software to third parties.

Price and payment

Prices are in euros and include any applicable taxes. Stripe shows the final total before you pay. Payment is taken once; there is no automatic renewal. Launch prices apply only during the stated offer period.

Delivery

After payment is confirmed, the licence is available in your account and is activated on your workstation with the device code shown in the application.

Refunds and the right of withdrawal

All sales are final. Before paying, you ask for the licence to be delivered immediately and acknowledge that, because digital content is supplied at once, the 14-day right of withdrawal does not apply. Licences are therefore not refundable, except where the law requires it.

This does not affect the legal guarantee of conformity: if the software does not work as described, contact the seller and the issue will be handled as the law provides.

What the software does and does not do

Frame Witness Forensics finds and examines photo and video data on storage you are entitled to access. Recovery depends on what remains on the medium: overwritten, trimmed or encrypted data may not be recoverable. Results support an examination; they are not certification, and the software does not guarantee that a recovered file is complete or authentic. Work from a copy of the source where possible. You are responsible for having the legal right to examine the media and for how you use the results.

Liability

To the extent permitted by law, the seller is not liable for indirect damage, loss of data or loss of profit, and total liability is limited to the price paid for the licence. Nothing in these terms limits rights that cannot be excluded under applicable consumer law.

Free account and free trial

These conditions apply from 22 October 2026 and do not change the terms of sale above. A free account with a verified email address includes the free quick scan: the first 8 GB of a source, the first 100 results shown with previews, and saving recovered files of up to 1 MB each. Further results found in that region are counted but not shown.

The free trial unlocks every feature of Frame Witness Forensics for 3 days (72 hours from the start shown in your account), once per person and per computer. No payment details are asked for, and the trial never turns into a purchase or a subscription. The trial is bound to the computer and Windows user that generated the activation code; while it runs, the application needs an internet connection about once a day to renew it, and stops working in trial mode if it cannot. Obtaining further trials with other accounts, email addresses, reinstallations or altered computer identifiers is not permitted; such trials may be refused or ended. When the trial ends, the free quick scan stays available and nothing you saved is removed. The trial is provided free of charge and as is, and may be withdrawn for new users at any time; trials already started run to their end. This does not limit rights you have under mandatory consumer law.

Privacy

Account, order and support data are handled as described in the legal information; activation codes and the free trial as described there. Recovered media stays on your workstation and is not uploaded to this website.

Law and disputes

Italian law applies. Consumers keep the protection of the mandatory rules of their country of residence.

Changes

New versions of these terms apply to later purchases. The version you accepted is recorded with your order.
